FinTech top deals H1 2026

Key Global FinTech investment stats in H1 2026:

  • Global FinTech funding dropped 56% YoY
  • The top 10 FinTech deals saw seven countries represented as investors diversified in the first half of the year
  • Cyera, an AI-native data security company building what it describes as an enterprise trust layer for the agentic era, raised $600m in its latest funding round, marking one of the top global FinTech deals of the period

Global FinTech funding dropped 56% YoY

Global FinTech investment in H1 2026 reached $19.8bn across 896 deals, representing a 56% decline in funding compared to the $44.6bn raised across 1,695 deals in H1 2025.

Deal volume fell by 47% over the same period, with both metrics contracting sharply and in tandem, pointing to a broad-based pullback in activity across the sector rather than a selective retreat confined to one end of the market.

The average deal value slipped to $22.1m in H1 2026, down from $26.3m in H1 2025, a more modest compression than the headline figures might suggest, indicating that while the overall volume of capital and transactions declined significantly, the typical size of individual deals held up with relative resilience.

The scale of the contraction across both measures nonetheless represents a considerable step back from the elevated levels of activity recorded in H1 2025, and points to a funding environment that has cooled markedly over the intervening year.

The country-level breakdown of the top 10 deals in H1 2026 reveals a dramatic shift in the geographic composition of the sector’s largest transactions compared to H1 2025, most strikingly in the diminished role of the US.

Having accounted for seven of the ten largest deals in H1 2025, US companies secured just two in H1 2026, a steep fall that represents one of the most pronounced changes in the distribution of large-deal activity seen across the comparable periods.

South Korea and India both emerged as significant forces, each contributing two top deals in H1 2026 despite neither featuring in the H1 2025 top 10, underscoring a meaningful shift in where the world’s largest FinTech transactions are being struck.

UK retained a presence across both periods, though its share fell from two deals to one.

Bermuda, France and Mexico were all new entrants in H1 2026, while Malta, which had contributed one top deal in H1 2025, did not feature in the more recent period.

The breadth of change across the rankings points to a global FinTech landscape in which the dominance of established Western markets at the upper end of the funding table is being actively challenged by a more diverse and geographically dispersed set of competitors.

Cyera, an AI-native data security company building what it describes as an enterprise trust layer for the agentic era, raised $600m in its latest funding round, marking one of the top global FinTech deals of the period

The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with Cyberstarts and Temasek joining alongside existing backers including Accel, AT&T Ventures, Blackstone, Coatue and Spark Capital, pushing Cyera’s valuation to $12bn and taking total funding beyond $2bn.

The company’s platform discovers and classifies exabytes of data with precision exceeding 95%, enforcing access controls across Data Security Posture Management, Data Loss Prevention, identity and behavioural security within a single unified system, giving enterprises visibility and control over what AI agents can access and act upon.

Cyera has tripled its annual recurring revenue for three consecutive years and has grown to more than 1,500 employees across 18 countries over the past 18 months, with its two most recent acquisitions, Ryft and Genie, adding specialised technology for governing AI at enterprise scale.

Proceeds will be used to accelerate the rollout of its platform across Fortune 1000 companies as enterprise demand for AI governance infrastructure continues to intensify.
