Allica Bank and Adclear turn compliance into growth

Allica Bank has teamed up with Adclear to unify its marketing approval rules, disclaimers and promotion policies within a single governed platform.

The collaboration pairs automated AI compliance reviews with tailored training for Allica’s marketers, with the aim of accelerating sign-off and strengthening confidence in each decision. Both organisations are applying what Adclear describes as “compliance engineering”, a method that captures a firm’s regulatory expertise and embeds it directly into everyday tools and processes.

Growth at Allica had outpaced the processes supporting its marketing function. The bank’s promotion rules, disclaimers and approval policies were originally built for a far smaller team, and its marketing, legal, compliance and product functions had been operating separately.

Critical know-how sat scattered across files, spreadsheets and the memories of individual staff. Stretched resources and the absence of a single trusted reference made consolidation a priority.

Working alongside Allica’s legal and compliance specialists, Adclear gathered the bank’s policies, disclaimers and promotion rules into one central repository. Staff now share a common base when drafting material, verifying requirements and deciding on approvals.

This policy layer also drives Allica’s new AI-assisted approvals workflow. By embedding Adclear’s automated checks into marketing operations, the bank has shortened review cycles and gained a consistent audit trail covering all published content. Marketing and compliance staff reference identical requirements, with every review logged.

Adclear has also introduced customised training sessions for the marketing team. These use Allica’s own products, claims and historic approval outcomes to link regulatory obligations with real campaign material. Marketers learn to distinguish lower-risk content they can sign off themselves from material requiring further review.

Adclear already supports financial services teams at Monzo, Lloyds Banking Group, PensionBee and IG Group, with Allica now joining that client roster.

Allica Bank head of marketing Georgie Burks said, “As we’ve scaled, our compliance knowledge has ended up living in different places – some in documents, some in spreadsheets, a lot of it just in people’s heads.

“Adclear helped us bring all of that together into one place we can actually trust, and then used it to train our marketing team. We are now working from a much stronger foundation, and are already seeing Adclear’s AI layer transforming how quickly and confidently we can move on marketing approvals and compliance.”

Adclear co-founder Joe Jordan said, “The initiatives we’re running with Allica reflect a shift we’re driving across the sector: turning compliance from a manual, case-by-case check, to a body of encoded policy that both AI and humans can work from.

“We call this “compliance engineering”. Rather than every promotion depending on a reviewer’s individual interpretation of the rules, firms can encode that knowledge once, so it can govern thousands of future decisions.

“This model turns compliance into a growth engine. The same regulatory knowledge that used to slow marketing down can now be built into systems that enable teams to move faster and more confidently.

It’s been a pleasure to work with Allica to transform their marketing compliance capabilities from the ground up: laying the foundations, building the team’s skills, and deploying our technology for faster, safer and more reliable checks.”
