RegTech firm, REGnosys, and award-winning social enterprise, Next Tech Girls, have announced a promising partnership with a shared goal of addressing the prevalent issue of gender disparity in the technology sector.
With their mutual commitment to enhancing the representation of women in tech and promoting STEM vocations among teenage girls, the two entities hope to instigate transformative change.
The primary impetus behind the partnership is to confront the gender imbalances that are rife in the tech industry. An alarming lack of information and guidance has resulted in a mere 26% of tech roles being filled by women. Furthermore, only a limited number of teenage girls and young women are being encouraged to consider careers in tech, perpetuating the disparity.
London-based REGnosys, established in 2017, is focused on shaping the future of data and reporting for financial markets. The firm offers collaborative solutions to help financial institutions ensure regulatory compliance. Their flagship product, Rosetta, is a ground-breaking low-code platform that enables a shared language to digitise reporting requirements.
On the other hand, Next Tech Girls is an award-winning social enterprise launched by tech recruitment agency Empiric. Their mission is to close the skills and gender gaps in the tech industry through tech-focused events and work experience placements.
Under the partnership, REGnosys pledges to reinforce its commitment to combating gender inequality. The firm has made considerable strides in promoting gender diversity, increasing the number of women in the firm and devising a referral programme. This partnership with Next Tech Girls will allow them to further broaden access to tech careers for young girls and women.
In July 2023, Next Tech Girls was invited to 10 Downing Street to partake in a roundtable discussion on fostering participation in STEM careers. The breakfast meeting was led by Baroness Diana Barran and saw representatives from various tech organisations.
