MS Reinsurance, a global reinsurer, has announced a pair of appointments to its Supervisory Board of Directors.
The firm is set to see Yasuko Fukuda and Dr. Frank Ellenbürger added to its board as it bolsters its staff, according to Global Reinsurance.
Fukuda has been appointed as the third shareholder representative director, while Ellenbürger assumes the role of fourth independent director. They both commenced their new positions in April 2024.
MS Reinsurance operates as a global reinsurer, providing risk management solutions to insurance companies worldwide.
With a focus on ensuring financial stability and security within the insurance industry, MS Reinsurance plays a vital role in the global financial ecosystem.
Fukuda brings over 30 years of experience to her new role at MS Reinsurance. She has been a longstanding member of the MS&AD Insurance Group and has held various leadership positions in finance and corporate planning.
Most recently, Fukuda served as MSI’s Managing Executive Officer, overseeing accounting and international supervisory functions.
Ellenbürger is a seasoned professional with extensive international experience in the insurance sector.
During his tenure at KPMG, he served as the Global and European Head of Insurance, spearheading the development and execution of global growth strategies. Ellenbürger’s expertise spans technical accounting, corporate governance, and change management.
The move is pending approval by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). Upon approval, Ellenbürger will assume the role of Chair of the Company’s Audit Committee, further enhancing the governance structure of MS Reinsurance.
