Revolut and Booking.com unveil new payment partnership

Revolut, the global FinTech, has announced a new global payments partnership with online travel giant Booking.com.

Revolut, the global FinTech, has announced a new global payments partnership with online travel giant Booking.com.

The collaboration marks a significant expansion of Revolut’s travel-focused services and its presence across international commerce.

The partnership comes in response to the strong overlap between both companies’ customer bases and Revolut’s intention to deepen its involvement in the travel sector. Approximately 9m Revolut users have previously made purchases on Booking.com, making the collaboration a natural next step.

Booking.com now becomes Revolut’s largest travel partner to integrate Revolut Pay, following continued growth of the payment solution, which now counts nearly 2m monthly active users.

Through the new integration, Booking.com customers can now choose Revolut Pay at checkout to pay for accommodation, with flights and car rentals to be added soon. Users are redirected seamlessly to the Revolut app, enabling one-click payments backed by Revolut’s biometric security.

An added benefit for consumers is the ability to earn additional RevPoints on all purchases made with Revolut Pay.

RevPoints, marketed as the first pan-European debit loyalty card programme, can be redeemed across thousands of merchants, including Booking.com, as well as for airline miles, hotel stays, gift cards, experiences and more within the Revolut app. For a limited time, from 17 November to 3 January, customers can earn 10x RevPoints on eligible purchases.

Booking.com has adopted Revolut Business to support this new payment capability and as part of its daily operations. This operational integration establishes a strong foundation for potential future collaboration.

Revolut general manager of acquiring Alex Codina said, “Our strategy at Revolut is about meeting customers where they are. Given our customers’ passion for travel and the millions of users on Booking.com, this partnership is a natural fit for us. Integrating Revolut Pay means a faster, more secure, and ultimately more rewarding checkout experience for users.”

Booking.com senior director of commercial fintech JC Rodriguez said, “At Booking.com, we are always looking at how we can make it easier for everyone to experience the world, and introducing innovative new solutions to make transacting on our platform fast, secure and flexible for all customers is key to that goal. With Revolut’s strong growth in key European markets, this partnership was a natural fit. We’re excited about this collaboration and will continue working with Revolut to explore strategic opportunities that deliver value to our millions of travellers and partners all around the world.”
