Chargebee, a billing and monetisation platform serving businesses with recurring revenue models, has formed a strategic partnership with Twikey, a European specialist in SEPA e-mandate management and recurring payment automation, in a move designed to bring billing systems and bank payment infrastructure closer together.
Under the collaboration, payment statuses, covering SEPA Direct Debit collections and bank transfers, will now be passed from Twikey to Chargebee in real time. This gives finance departments a clearer picture of the state of their payments while sharply cutting the amount of manual reconciliation required. Because merchants using Twikey for SEPA Direct Debit and bank transfers receive funds directly rather than through an intermediary payment service provider, customers also see clearer entries on their bank statements, something that can lead to fewer chargebacks.
The joint offering is expected to be especially valuable in industries such as media, insurance, retail, utilities and telecoms, where recurring payments, sizeable customer bases and intricate pricing arrangements typically coexist.
Chargebee provides AI monetisation and billing infrastructure for firms operating subscription, usage-based and hybrid pricing, covering the entire revenue lifecycle from pricing configuration and usage metering through to revenue recognition and customer retention, across enterprise and self-serve channels, multiple entities and international markets.
Twikey, meanwhile, links billing systems directly to banks via more than 3,500 bank and connector integrations, managing SEPA e-mandates and enabling dependable recurring collections.
Chargebee COO Jeff Sant said, “As businesses adopt usage-based and more complex pricing models, the gap between billing payments can show up as failed collections and manual reconciliation overhead. By working with Twikey, we help customers connect their billing and payments infrastructure directly, reduce operational overhead, and improve revenue collection and management.”
Twikey CEO Dominique Adriansens said, “The disconnect between billing systems and bank payments has been a persistent challenge for businesses managing recurring revenue. Mandates change, transactions fail, payment details become outdated, and finance teams are left to resolve these gaps manually, often because legacy systems lack the depth needed to keep up. That’s why we’re happy to partner with Chargebee, so we can help organisations build a more connected recurring revenue stack: reducing reconciliation effort, improving collections performance, and delivering more reliable revenue data across systems.”
