IntellectAI has closed out its Broker Appreciation Month (BAM) campaign with a set of findings on where wholesale insurance placement is succeeding, and where operational friction still holds the market back.
Launched at the start of July, the campaign was built around industry dialogue. IntellectAI hosted its Byte Size Briefings webinar, took part in interviews on ConversAItions w/ IntellectAI, and shared case studies exploring how commercial insurance digitisation is progressing through what the firm calls the “last mile” of the wholesale placement process.
One of the clearest takeaways, according to IntellectAI, is that awareness of Distribution Ecosystems remains low across the brokerage community. Many wholesale brokers continue to rely on their Agency Management System as a default hub for operations, despite it being designed as a passive record-keeping tool rather than an active driver of growth.
IntellectAI found that once brokers were shown what a modern orchestration layer could look like, appetite grew quickly, particularly once it became clear that adopting a tool such as Xponent for Distribution does not require replacing existing core systems.
Data fragmentation emerged as a second major theme. IntellectAI heard repeated accounts of wholesale brokers losing hours to incomplete or inaccurate submissions from retail agents, often manually searching external sources to fill in missing details before carriers could even review a file. Through its Risk Analyst product, IntellectAI demonstrated how automated scanning of thousands of data sources can validate and enrich submissions in real time, producing cleaner packages that move more quickly through underwriting queues.
The campaign also highlighted the growing role of domain-specific AI in reducing Errors and Omissions exposure. IntellectAI pointed to its Magic Placement tool, built on the firm’s Purple Fabric AI platform, as evidence that document review, traditionally a manual and time-intensive process during renewal season, can be significantly accelerated. IntellectAI said document review times have fallen by as much as 75% using the tool, with discrepancies between carrier documents surfaced automatically.
