AXA Hong Kong and Macau, part of the AXA Group, has partnered with BytePlus to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models can be applied across insurance operations.
The insurer has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BytePlus, an enterprise technology provider, establishing a co-innovation framework focused on AI models, intelligent agents and decision-intelligence tools for insurance.
Under the agreement, the companies will explore insurance-specific AI applications across areas including knowledge management, underwriting support, claims handling and distribution. The aim is to combine AXA’s insurance expertise with BytePlus’s technology capabilities to support the redesign of processes across multiple channels.
The partnership will also see AXA explore BytePlus’s predictive data analytics, consumer persona modelling and AI-powered decision support. These capabilities are intended to help the insurer better understand customer needs and improve interactions throughout the insurance journey.
A further focus will be the development of a “creativity hub” using BytePlus’s multimodal and generative AI capabilities. The hub is expected to support faster content creation while enabling more personalised customer engagement at scale.
For insurers, the agreement reflects a broader shift towards using AI beyond individual automation use cases, with models and intelligent tools being explored across underwriting, claims, customer engagement and distribution.
