Akur8, the global actuarial AI platform provider, has rolled out Akur8 Agents, a new offering that embeds expert guidance and no-code automation into the day-to-day workflows of actuaries.
The initial version, Akur8 Agents for pricing, is intended to help actuaries handle complex pricing tasks more quickly. It takes on repetitive jobs, brings useful insights to the surface and makes actuarial know-how more accessible. The agents operate inside the Akur8 platform and were developed by actuaries with actuaries in mind. Users keep full ownership of their analyses and decisions throughout.
The agents can help design pricing structures, produce reports using reusable templates, write formulas suited to specific modelling requirements, review variable usage ahead of modelling, and apply filed rates within rating analyses. They can also import rating logic held in spreadsheets and other formats into Akur8 through an adaptable process that users can review.
They link information across a project, summarise progress and activity, highlight context that may otherwise be difficult to locate, and assist with building visualisations. Guidance on Akur8 and insurance best practice is delivered within the workflow, kept current with software updates and offered in several languages.
While the agents engage with the platform and advise on how to get the most from it, Akur8’s existing actuarial and statistical engines still carry out the mathematical and modelling work. Actuaries continue to check outputs, interpret findings, exercise professional judgement and make the final calls.
The company said generic AI tools can produce answers, but actuarial work requires outcomes that can be verified, explained and defended. Akur8 Agents are curated by the firm’s Actuarial and Product teams and are underpinned by technology already relied upon by over 3,000 actuaries globally. Each Akur8 pricing module comes with its own dedicated agent, which teams can customise using ready-made expert skill templates or their own skills, without writing code. Global memory and instructions can also be configured so that every conversation follows shared guidance.
The offering rests on four principles: actuarial expertise, explainable work with human oversight, native integration with existing Akur8 capabilities, and enterprise-grade trust. Akur8 stated that customer data is never used to train AI models and that the product complies with the EU AI Act.
Rather than requiring insurers to construct an agent system from scratch, Akur8 is providing focused agents tied to tools customers already use, built on its cloud-native infrastructure, machine learning architecture and actuarial engines. The company intends to extend its expert agents to Reserving and Life.
Akur8 offers a suite of actuarial solutions for insurers of all sizes across the Property and Casualty (P&C) and Life and Annuity (L&A) markets. It works with more than 350 customers in over 40 countries, including AXA, Generali, Munich Re, Europ Assistance, Tokio Marine and MS&AD, as well as TMNAS, FCCI, NEXT, HDVI, Wawanesa, SGI Canada, Facility Group and Canopius.
Akur8 Agents for pricing are being showcased at ITC Vegas 2026.
Akur8 CEO and co-founder Sam Falmagne said, “The next stage of actuarial AI is not about replacing actuaries or asking them to hand their work over to a black box. It’s about giving them expert agents that can organize repeatable work, guide complex processes, and make the full power of the Akur8 platform easier to use. With Akur8 Agents, the actuarial engines continue to do the mathematical computations, actuaries continue to make the decisions, and the agents help bring everything together more efficiently, transparently, and securely.”
