Cryptocurrency startup Circle acquired the crowdfunding platform SeedInvest in March. Now it is looking for someone to handle its upcoming $100m venture capital fund.
A job listing on LinkedIn revealed the intent of the cryptocurrency payments and investment platform. The ad stated that Circle is searching for someone “to develop and drive an investment thesis designed to leverage SeedInvest’s sizable deal flow and its unique network of 250,000 investors to maximize returns.”
SeedInvest offers a registry of potential startup investments vetted by the firm before users get to see them.
The news comes after Circle raised a $100m Series E round in May 2018. The round was led by Bitmain, the Chinese Bitcoin mining technology developer. At the time, Circle stated it would use the investment and the new partnership with Bitmain to drive global interoperability.
