Blink, the InsurTech company focusing on the travel industry, has teamed up with TuGo, the Canadian travel insurance provider.
The deal will see Blink strengthen its Canadian foothold whilst supporting TuGo’s roll-out of tailor-made travel solutions to its customers.
“TuGo is one of the most well-respected names in Canada’s travel insurance market,” said Paul Prendergast, CEO and co-founder of Blink. “They’ve helped millions of travellers, and their reputation for service excellence precedes them. We look forward to enhancing TuGo’s travel products with MyFlyt service to improve their customers’ experiences when flights are delayed.”
Blink’s data-driven solution MyFlyt is able to inform instantaneously if there is a flight delay in real time. By tapping into the solution, TuGo can more easily counteract any negative side-effects by offering compensation immediately, like lounge access, if a flight is delayed.
“As a customer centric organization, we’re constantly looking to improve travellers’ experiences, since this is TuGo’s Purpose – to help people travel,” said Kathy Starko, executive director and chief production officer at TuGo. “Blink’s passion and belief in revolutionizing the travel experience aligns perfectly with our values. We’re looking forward to expanding our services across the buyer’s journey; MyFlyt is a great first step, with a solution that eases the stress of travel delays for our customers.”
