Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne is set to acquire breach detection technology firm Attivo Networks for $616m.
According to Security Week, the cash-and-stock transaction gives SentinelOne a new set of capabilities to speed up its push to become a full-service player in the extended detection and response market.
Attivo has a product suite that includes capabilities for identity threat detection and response, identity cyber deception and identity infrastructure assessments.
The firm said in a statement, “With this acquisition, SentinelOne extends its AI-powered prevention, detection, and response capabilities to identity-based threats, setting the standard for XDR and accelerating enterprise zero trust adoption.
“[This extends our] XDR capabilities to identity-based threats across endpoint, cloud workloads, IoT devices, mobile, and data wherever it resides.”
The acquisition is anticipated to close in SentinelOne’s fiscal second quarter and is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
In February last year, SentinelOne acquired logging startup Scalyr in a deal worth $155m in stock and cash.
SentinelOne added Scalyr’s real-time data lake to its cybersecurity offering through the deal, enabling the business to actively prevent hack attacks and not just react to them.
