In-store payments app Perpule has secured $650,000 in Seed funding led by Kstart a sister company of VC Kalaari Capital.

Venture Highway also participated in the round for the Indian startup alongside angel investors.

The Bangalore-based company offers a self-checkout application designed to allow customers to avoid queuing in stores.

The app lets users find nearby stores where they can scan items barcodes as they add them to their baskets. Users can then track their spending and make payments through the app.

Perpule lists supermarkets HyperCity and Spar as well as clothing retailer Inmark as its clients.

Company CEO Abhinav Pathak said: ?Our vision is to ensure waiting in queues is a thing of the past. With improved systems, we are saving customers’ time and thus improving the overall experience.p>

On top of in-store payments Perpule says the app also offers an omni-channel customer-engagement platform to drive sales both on and offline.
