Get, a payment solution for university students, has reportedly bagged $3.4m in a new round of funding.
The round was led by Vertex Ventures and Click Ventures, according to an article by Startup Daily.
Get, which is currently live in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, helps university students ease payment collection for societies. The system creates a members list of everyone in the group, all members are automatically singed up and receive announcement notifications, and varying membership levels and benefits.
Societies can also use Get to access tickets to a range of different event types such as ski-trips, balls, workshops and festivals, among others, with over 400 organisations using the app to offer event tickets.
Alongside this, the app simplifies all payments, and can be used to sell branded clothing and items to the community.
Through the new injection of capital, the company will look to expand the company’s footprint, further product development and increase the size of its marketing team, it said.
Earlier in the year, Vertex Ventures co-led the $11m seed funding round of Verbit, a professional transcription solution provider. The company uses a combination of AI technologies to achieve accuracy and speed, at a scale large enough to make the world’s audio and video content accessible according to its website.
The firm also led the $3m round of cybersecurity platform Fyde, earlier in the year, to support the launch of its Apple iOS app.
