Chipper Cash closes $13.8m Series A round led by Deciens Capital and Raptor Group

Mobile cross-border money transfer startup Chipper Cash plans to hire 30 more staff members after bagging $13.8m in fresh capital.

The new employees will be recruited to Chipper Cash’s San Francisco, Lagos, London, Nairobi and New York branches, according to TechCrunch.

Venture capital firm Deciens Capital specialises in backing FinTech startups. The firm co-led Chipper Cash’s Series A round together with Raptor Group, the financial services firm that recently backed crypto data platform Coin Metrics’ $6m raise. Raptor Group previously backed Chipper Cash’s $6m seed round back in December 2019.

500 Startups and Liquid 2 Ventures returned in the Series A round after having invested injected into the startup $2.4m back in May 2019.
