ESMA says kick-off of Securities Financing Transactions Regulation went off without a glitch

From: RegTech Analyst

The EU’s securities markets regulator has announced that the first day of Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR) reporting went off smoothly

The new regulation went live on Monday July 13 and European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has said that reporting by financial and no-financial market participants under SFTR has gone smoothly so far.

ESMA said all four trade repositories opened their systems and start receiving and processing SFT data submitted by reporting firms, with ESMA not identified any major disruptions so far in the functioning of trade repositories.

The regulator said it would continue to monitor the implementation of SFTR.
