Moneybox raises £30m in Series C funding round and launches crowdfunding campaign

UK-based FinTech Moneybox has bagged £30m in a Series C funding round led by Eight Roads and CNP. Breega also participated in the raise.

The news comes as the savings and investment startup launched in 2016 announced that it was raising more fund through a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.

“While we have achieved our target investment from existing and new institutional investors, we want to bring you, the Moneybox community, even closer to our journey through crowdfunding,” Moneybox said in a statement. “You are at the heart of what we do and we wouldn’t be here today without you.”

“Crowdfunding enables everyday investors to support companies directly and benefit from their potential growth through buying shares. Remember though, the risks of crowdfunding are different from the risk of investing in funds like those offered by Moneybox. Investing in a startup business carries significant risks, including illiquidity, lack of dividends, loss of your investment and dilution.”

Moneybox most recently raised £14m in its Series B round in 2018, which was also led by Eight Roads.
