Retail investing app Flink scores $12m in its Series A round

Flink, which offers an investment app, has scored $12m in its Series A round, which will help it expand across Latin America.

The investment was supported by Accel, ALLVP, Raptor Financial Group, Clocktower Ventures, Kevin Efrusy and Oskar Hjertonsson.

Flink is available in Mexico, but the company hopes to expand across Latin America, including Colombia, Chile, Peru and Argentina. Part of the capital will be used to support its expansion across the region and getting licences in the various countries, a report from TechCrunch claims.

Funds will also be used to continue improving user experience and product offering, as well as increasing its team size.

Flink offers Mexican consumers a mobile app that enables them to build their own portfolio. Tools enable the user to invest in financial markets, keep track of investments, personalise accounts with fractions in various companies, receive instant notifications and get real-time access to the New York Stock Exchange.

Earlier in the month, Vested Finance, which offers an online investment platform designed to help Indian investors back US companies, scored $3.6m in its seed round.

FinTech has continued to excel in funding over the past few years. Last year, FinTech funding in Latin America reached a new record, hitting $2.8bn through 178 investments.
