US companies dominate Blockchain & Crypto dealmaking

• Overall, there were 240 Blockchain & Crypto seed deals in H1 2022 and the USA was the most active country with 35% of total deals. Singapore was second with 6.8% of deals and the UK was third with 5.8%. Of the nearly 3,500 FinTech deals in the first half of 2022, Blockchain & Crypto was also the most active sector with 20% of total deals.
Zora, which offers easy-to-use tools for building web3 online stores and websites, was the largest Blockchain & Crypto seed deal in H1 2022 raising $50m in their seed round led by Haun Ventures, which values the company at $600m. Zora also has a focus on sustainability and protecting the environment. Users can purchase carbon offsets to help limit their footprint.
• Global adoption of Blockchain & Crypto in Q2 2020 stood at 2.5% and this grew rapidly to 24% in Q2 2021 where it peaked. Adoption currently sits at 18% and the drop is due to holders losing faith in the asset as prices declined 57.87% in Q2 2022 from the Q2 2021 peak although critically, adoption remains well above its pre-bull market 2019 levels.
