Berlin-based InsurTech giant wefox has appointed Laura Eschricht as its new chief marketing officer.
Eschricht has over 15 years of global experience spanning both the beauty and fashion industries with B2B and B2C environments. She has previously worked at e-commerce retailer Zalando and global beauty brands amika and Moroccanoil.
Speaking on the appointment, wefox CEO and founder Julian Teicke expressed their joy at bringing Eschricht onboard to support the company’s growth. “I have no doubt her extensive knowledge and experience together with her passion and energy will help realise our goals of new markets, new technologies and as always, insurance that is fit for purpose in today’s world.”
Eschricht said, “I am excited to join wefox and play my part in the insurance revolution. I want to make wefox insurance a truly global product, helping to prevent risk worldwide and keeping more and more people safe. The insurance industry is ripe for a digital transformation as wefox has already proved.
“I want wefox to become a household name in the global insurance industry. I want wefox to stand for competence, trust and simplicity in the minds of the people we keep safe and, I want to be the most trusted partner for our brokers.”
The InsurTech company has had a successful year. In July, wefox closed its Series D round on $400m, which brought its valuation to $4.5bn. With the funds, the company has its eyes set on expansion across Europe and into Asia and the US.
Its offerings include household, motor and personal liability insurance, but it is looking to release many more products.
The company has published a report that revealed a widespread dissatisfaction and lack of trust in the global insurance industry.
