PayTech services dominate the list of most downloaded Danish FinTech apps in Q3

  • PayTech apps saw the most downloads in Denmark during Q3 2022. Digital Payments total transaction volume in the country is projected to reach $25bn in 2022 and grow at a 13.37% CAGR from 2022-2027. WealthTech was the second most downloaded sector for FinTech apps in Denmark. Online banking has grown in popularity among all age groups in Denmark over the past decade. Usage has increased from 83% in 2011 to 95% in 2021. Individuals between 25 and 44 years were the most active online banking users, with a 97% usage.
  • MobilePay, an online payment provider, was the most downloaded FinTech app in Denmark from Q3 2021 – Q3 2022. MobilePay has been downloaded 3.3m times in Denmark since its start in 2013 which is more than half the population (Danish population was 5.86m in 2020). The app was developed by Danske bank and almost half of consumers used it at least once a week in 2018. The most common age group for the MobilePay was 20 to 29 years.
