Amazon teams up with UK insurers to revolutionise home insurance shopping

Amazon, the international e-commerce giant, has forged a partnership with prominent UK insurance providers, Ageas, Co-op, LV, and Policy Expert to to streamline the home insurance purchase process.

The rationale behind this collaboration is the often daunting and time-consuming task of buying home insurance. Multiple factors need to be considered, the selection process can be arduous and the vast number of options for coverage can easily overwhelm customers. To make this process smoother and more accessible, Amazon and its partners launched the Amazon Insurance Store.

Amazon has always been at the forefront of e-commerce, providing a seamless shopping experience and diverse product range to millions of customers worldwide. Ageas, Co-op, LV, and Policy Expert are all established insurers in the UK, offering a wide variety of coverage options to cater to the unique needs of their clients. By joining forces, these entities are aiming to streamline the home insurance purchase process.

The Amazon Insurance Store introduces a standardised level of cover, ensuring policies cover the most frequently made home insurance claims. Moreover, the chosen insurance providers meet stringent criteria that include efficient claims handling, resolution timescales, and upholding Amazon’s high standards of customer service.

Customers wishing to purchase home insurance via the Amazon Insurance Store need to have an Amazon UK account. A short questionnaire is required to receive quotes, which can then be compared and further personalised to best meet individual needs. Once purchased, customers can manage their policies directly on the website. Additionally, customers who make a qualifying purchase receive a £10 gift card.

Amazon said, “Every time we create a new product or service, we understand there is much to learn. We look forward to continuing to listen to our customers and enhance our understanding of what they are seeking when deciding where to purchase home insurance.”
