Boost for cybersecurity as Cyber Threat Alliance bags generous donation

The Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA), a non-profit organisation committed to enhancing the cybersecurity of our global digital ecosystem, has announced the receipt of a substantial grant.

This generous contribution comes from none other than Craig Newmark Philanthropies, furthering CTA’s mission to strengthen cybersecurity standards across the digital landscape.

This monetary boost, while undisclosed in its exact sum, comes as part of an ongoing commitment from Craig Newmark Philanthropies, demonstrating its unwavering belief in the cybersecurity work carried out by CTA.

Established by key players in the cybersecurity field, such as Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., Cisco, Fortinet, McAfee, Palo Alto Networks, and Symantec, CTA focuses on the sharing of high-quality cyber threat information in near real-time among its members. It functions as a well-coordinated team of cybersecurity practitioners, working together to fend off advanced cyber adversaries by sharing actionable intelligence and situational awareness about complex cyber threats.

With this recent grant, CTA plans to work even more closely with its members and partner organisations to identify under-reported cyber threats. The aim is to provide more comprehensive information about these threats and to illustrate how they can be mitigated. The funding will also aid the creation of joint reports on cyber threats and their mitigation, leveraging the collective knowledge of CTA’s members and partners.

Craig Newmark Philanthropies’ support for internet protection has been lauded, with their backing of CTA’s mission being highly appreciated. The organisation’s dedication to improving internet security stands as an inspiring example.

CTA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Daniel, expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution. “I am very pleased that Craig Newmark Philanthropies has decided to support CTA’s mission.

“We will use the funds to work with our members and partner organizations to identify under-reported cyber threats, provide information about those threats, and lay out how to mitigate them.  Strong philanthropic support enables organizations to pursue activities that benefit society broadly, including cybersecurity.  Craig is a leader in this area, and I hope that others will follow to expand the amount of funding available for these kinds of public missions.”
