FinTech Global reveals the 100 companies to make the 2nd ESGFinTech100 list

FinTech Global has launched the second annual ESGFinTech100 list to shine a spotlight on the world’s most innovative technology solutions fighting global challenges.

The new list has named 100 companies that are transforming the fight against climate risk, sustainability, social responsibility and governance challenges.

Companies were selected by a panel of industry experts and analysts, with over 500 ESG tech companies having been assessed in the creation of the report.

Finalists were chosen based on their use of technology to solve a significant industry problem, or their impact on ESG imperatives and/or sustainability enhancements generated for clients.

Commenting on the new list, FinTech Global director Richard Sachar said, “With the impending deadline of ESRS and many other ESG regulations currently in the works around the world, it is clear that ESG is not a passing phase. Pressures are only going to increase for financial institutions, and greenwashing will bring financial and reputational damage.

“The ESGFinTech100 roster helps senior management to identify the ESG tech companies that are leading the pack. The detailed company profiles provide insights into how solutions work, the problems they solve, operational regions and much more. This is an essential guide for any firm committed to meet net zero targets.”

ESGFinTech has experienced a significant burst in growth as financial institutions continue to seek solutions that can help them meet rising customer demands and regulatory requirements. In fact, the sector saw a 46% growth in deal activity during 2022, when compared to the previous year.

With such a strong sector, it is no surprise that many of the companies to feature in this year’s ESGFinTech100 list have hit the headlines this year.

One of those companies is Auquan, which leverages AI to turn the world’s unstructured data into actionable risk and ESG intelligence for financial services customers. Earlier in the month the ESGFinTech100 company closed its seed funding round on $3.5m.

Alongside the funding round, which was led by early-stage investor Neotribe Ventures, Auquan launched its Intelligence Engine, which is powered by retrieval augmented generation (RAG) AI.

Another one of the ESGFinTech100 companies to raise funds in the past year is Upright. The startup is building a new type of science-based quantification model for companies’ impact, aiming to set the global standard for impact measurement. At the end of last year, Upright secured €5m to help scale its impact data engine and make net impact data accessible to everyone.

Another company in the new list is IntellectAI, a company that offers ESG Edge which harnesses ESG insights with AI precision, customizable ratings, and real-time data for informed, proactive investment decisions.

The company’s chief marketing officer Laila Beane recently spoke to FinTech Global about generative AI within the world of insurance. She said, “By analyzing data related to an individual’s behavior, lifestyle, medical and social history, genetic datapoints, and more, generative AI can help insurers personalize pricing models that reflect a customer’s actual risk profile more accurately.”

aixigo has made the ESGFinTech100 list for the second consecutive year. The company provides the world’s fastest API-based Wealth Management Platform for creating individual, innovative and profitable wealth management services. Earlier in the year, aixigo partnered with BSI, a holistic platform for the digitalization of customer relationships. Through the deal.

Amundi Technology is another of the companies on the new list. The company, which recently named a new CEO, offers ALTO Sustainability, a cloud and open-source solution, powering sustainable and ESG investing by accessing and integrating ESG data

A couple other notable companies to feature in the new list are Etops and Finfox.
