Openly enhances risk assessment with Ecopia AI’s building-based geocoding

Openly, a forward-thinking homeowners insurance provider, and Ecopia AI, a leader in digital mapping through artificial intelligence, have recently announced their collaboration.

Openly, established in 2017 by experts in property and casualty (P&C) insurance, has been redefining the home insurance landscape with data-centric solutions. Ecopia AI, on the other hand, stands out in creating digital replicas of Earth using high-resolution imagery to generate high-definition vector maps.

The crux of this partnership lies in Openly’s adoption of Ecopia’s Building-Based Geocoding to improve risk assessment accuracy in the residential P&C underwriting process. Openly’s network of independent agents across 21 states will now be empowered to offer highly accurate homeowner quotes, leveraging advanced AI technology, a move that resonates with Openly’s core principles.

Ecopia’s Building-Based Geocoding will significantly enhance Openly’s quoting engine. This technology provides detailed location and property information necessary for precise risk assessment, thus facilitating a smoother experience for both customers and agents. Ecopia’s technology stands out by offering rooftop-level geocode, building footprints, and parcel boundaries for an extensive number of buildings in the United States, thereby enabling more accurate property relationship insights and improved master data management.

In the words of Ty Harris, CEO of Openly, “We chose Ecopia because of the unmatched quality of Building-Based Geocoding. At Openly, we pride ourselves on redesigning the insurance tech stack with the most innovative solutions available, and Ecopia’s highly accurate property location data is a core component. The coverage and precision of Ecopia’s geocoded building footprints enable our user base of independent agents to provide competitive and customized quotes to homeowners more efficiently and confidently than ever before.”
