Blackbaud accelerates social impact innovation with latest tech startups cohort

Blackbaud, a leader in software solutions for social impact, recently unveiled the latest group of early-stage companies joining its Social Good Startup Program.

This initiative is a tech accelerator aimed at fostering software innovations that enhance social responsibility efforts across nonprofits, educational institutions, and corporations.

The July 2024 cohort focuses on integrating and augmenting Blackbaud’s offerings, driving significant advances for organizations dedicated to social change. According to Jerry Needel, vice president and chief of innovation at Blackbaud, the program is essential for bringing diverse technological advancements to their clientele, furthering their mission of societal betterment.

This cohort includes six promising startups:

  • Arbor, an AI-driven storytelling platform, enhances nonprofit communication by automating the creation of videos, social clips, and email campaigns to tell compelling impact stories.
  • Chat2Impact offers an efficient digital assistant that integrates seamlessly with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®, improving charity engagement through functionalities like donation processing and event registrations.
  • Giving Compass positions itself as a vital tool for donors, using AI to connect them with high-potential, underfunded nonprofits, thereby optimizing the impact of their contributions.
  • LifeWeb 360 provides a digital memorial space where schools and organizations can honor deceased individuals, fostering community connections and potential donor engagement.
  • Ribon converts corporate donations into a tool for employee involvement, enabling staff to allocate funds to approved causes, enhancing corporate social responsibility.
  • Your Mission Possible introduces Blueprint, a project management tool that significantly reduces administrative tasks for fundraisers, allowing more focus on community involvement.

Lizzie Schaffer, general manager of the Social Good Startup Program, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome these six exciting companies into the July 2024 cohort.

“Partnering with the industry’s top innovators in social impact technology through our Social Good Startup Program allows Blackbaud to continue providing purpose-driven organizations with increased opportunities to utilize cutting edge products and solutions, ultimately giving our customers even more ways to enhance their impact and achieve their goals.”

Since its inception in January 2020, the Social Good Startup Program has supported 60 startups through eight cohorts. These startups have collectively raised over $185m in funding and contributed more than 30 new solutions to the Blackbaud Marketplace. Notably, over 60% of these founders come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wide range of perspectives to the tech industry.
