Previsico, a surface water flood forecasting specialist, has partnered with Esri UK to mitigate the increasing risks posed by surface water flooding for businesses and organisations in the UK.
This strategic partnership will see Previsico’s flood forecasting solutions integrated into Esri UK’s services through an API, according to InsurTech Insights.
The integration will provide Esri UK clients, spanning industries such as utilities, transport, architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), housing, government, retail, real estate, and non-profits, with real-time, actionable flood insights.
Previsico delivers cutting-edge flood forecasting solutions that utilise geospatial data, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and advanced flood modelling.
These tools equip businesses to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate the impacts of flooding. Previsico’s solutions are already used by leading insurers, including Liberty, Zurich, and Generali, as well as public entities like National Grid and National Rail.
Esri UK, part of the global Esri network, specialises in GIS software, location intelligence, and mapping. The company provides critical tools to a broad range of industries to enhance decision-making, optimise operations, and manage risks effectively.
The partnership will enhance Esri UK’s capabilities for its existing clients, providing new tools to address flood risks and safeguard operations and assets.
This collaboration could also extend globally through Esri’s network of 650,000 clients, significantly broadening the reach of Previsico’s forecasting technology.
Previsico’s technology incorporates data from the UK Met Office and its US counterpart. Combined with IoT-enabled ground devices and advanced modelling techniques, the tools address surface water flooding challenges in the UK and potentially in international markets.
