eToro enhances Aussie trading with AUD accounts

eToro has strengthened its focus on the Australian market by launching AUD accounts and unveiling a series of updates designed to make investing more seamless for local users.

The enhancements include interest on cash balances, recurring investments, instant bank transfers, and the addition of more ASX-listed stocks—all aimed at providing Australians with a tailored wealth-building experience.

The introduction of AUD accounts allows users to deposit, hold, withdraw, and invest directly in their local currency for the first time. This move eliminates the need to convert to USD for trades, helping investors avoid unnecessary conversion costs.

Australian users can now fund trades in either AUD or USD, offering more flexibility and control over their portfolios. Those investing in ASX-listed companies will also benefit from zero conversion fees when using AUD.

Beyond this, eToro has introduced discounted conversion rates between AUD and USD for global asset purchases. The standard fee starts at 0.75% but can drop to as little as 0.15%, depending on a user’s eToro Club tier. These improvements align with eToro’s goal of giving users greater influence over how they manage currency exposure as part of their broader investment strategies.

Currently, eToro users in Australia can earn up to 4.05% interest on their USD balances, and the firm plans to extend this benefit to AUD holdings soon. Alongside this, the platform will also add more than 200 additional ASX-listed companies to its offering.

eToro executive vice president of business solutions Doron Rosenblum said, “The introduction of AUD accounts is more than just a convenience. It enables Australian retail investors to reduce costs, manage their currency exposure more effectively, and gain greater control over their trading experience. This, paired with innovations such as the recurring investments feature, ensures Australian eToro users have a real edge in markets.”

The recurring investments feature, now available for stocks, ETFs, and digital assets, lets users automate regular purchases, helping them stay consistent with their financial goals without having to manually execute trades.

eToro Australia managing director Robert Francis said, “As we work to enhance our presence and offerings in Australia, our goal is to provide users with the best possible investing and money management experience. This includes access to a variety of global products as well as features specifically designed to meet the needs of Australian investors.”

In another upgrade, eToro is preparing to launch an Open Banking-powered instant transfer feature that will enable users to fund their accounts without leaving the app. This will allow quicker reactions to market changes and ensure smoother transactions for investors.
