SmartSearch, the UK’s leading provider of digital compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions, has announced the appointment of Seyfi Günay as chief revenue officer.

Günay joins the executive leadership team as SmartSearch continues its expansion following a major investment from Triple Private Equity and the acquisition of identity verification specialist Credas, claims Finextra.

SmartSearch delivers advanced AML and digital compliance technology to more than 7,500 regulated businesses across the UK. The company’s solutions are built to help clients verify identities quickly and accurately through triple-bureau verification with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, reducing delays and improving match rates. Its configurable, risk-based platform supports KYC and KYB processes, and integrates seamlessly with over 30 CRM and case management systems, offering pass rates of up to 97%.

With over two decades of experience in sales leadership, Günay brings extensive expertise from senior roles at the London Stock Exchange Group, Moody’s Analytics, and S&P Global Market Intelligence. Throughout his career, he has driven double-digit revenue growth, led high-performing teams, and built successful go-to-market strategies for SaaS and FinTech businesses across EMEA.

In his new role, Günay will be responsible for accelerating SmartSearch’s growth, strengthening its market position, and enhancing the company’s product offerings. His appointment marks a key milestone in SmartSearch’s mission to transform compliance into a strategic advantage for its clients.

SmartSearch’s trusted technology is already used by more than half of the UK’s top 100 accountancy firms, a third of the top 200 legal firms, over 1,000 property businesses and more than 3,000 FCA-regulated organisations. By automating compliance, SmartSearch enables faster onboarding, reduces operational risk, and helps businesses meet evolving regulatory demands.

SmartSearch chief revenue officer Seyfi Günay said, “SmartSearch has an incredibly talented team dedicated to combatting financial crime and fraud and it is a privilege to join the company as Chief Revenue Officer. I look forward to working alongside the rest of the executive leadership team to drive growth, enhance SmartSearch’s product offerings and provide customers with solutions to strengthen compliance, reduce risk and enable them to achieve their strategic objectives.”

SmartSearch CEO Phil Cotter said, “Seyfi’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer comes at a pivotal moment for SmartSearch, as we enter the next stage of our business evolution. His wealth of experience and sector-specific expertise will be invaluable to the leadership team as we work together to accelerate growth and deliver new and exciting solutions that help our clients navigate today’s complex regulatory environment and evolving financial crime landscape.”
