Norm Ai targets DDQ and RFP delays with automation

Norm Ai has launched a DDQ & RFP Completion solution to help firms answer investor questionnaires faster while keeping responses accurate, traceable, and consistent across teams.

The company said legal and compliance expertise is often hard to scale because key knowledge sits with a small number of specialists and is spread across documents, business units, and historic submissions.

The new product is part of Norm Ai’s wider Legal & Compliance AI Platform, which uses “Legal Engineering” to translate policies, controls, and regulatory frameworks into AI agents. Norm Ai said these agents are built to reason with precision and provide explainability, aiming to reduce the risks that come with generic text generation in regulated workflows.

DDQs and RFPs were highlighted as a pressure point for many organisations because they require evidence of governance, risk management, investor protections, and regulatory adherence. Norm Ai said gaps in institutional knowledge and process discipline show up quickly in these questionnaires, especially when multiple teams must contribute and senior stakeholders need to review line-by-line.

Norm Ai’s approach centres on a versioned repository where approved answers, policies, fund documents, and prior questionnaires can be stored and reused. AI agents then generate first-pass responses, matching questions to the most authoritative source available. Where exact matches exist, answers can be inserted verbatim; where information is incomplete, the system flags gaps for reviewer attention and provides reasoning for what needs action.

The company also emphasised transparency, with responses labelled to show whether they come from an Answer Bank, are AI generated, or require follow-up. Reviewers can jump to supporting excerpts, and a multi-stage workflow is designed to mirror existing sign-off routes across business units, legal, compliance, and management. Norm Ai said every edit, approval, reassignment, citation change, and version update is recorded in an audit trail.

Once complete, questionnaires can be exported back into the original format, or into PDF or Excel, with citations and version history included. Norm Ai added that each firm is supported by a legal engineer to maintain governance rules, manage tags and expirations, and keep the system aligned with internal standards.
