A new entrant has arrived in the UK banking market, thisbank, a newly launched British bank, as it sets out its ambition to scale investor growth while offering competitive savings rates to customers.
The launch marks the bank’s transformation from a new entrant into what it describes as one of the UK’s most trusted savings providers in under 12 months. During this period, thisbank has grown its assets under management by 12x and is now targeting a balance sheet significantly north of £1bn, having achieved profitability in less than a year.
Backed by British and American investment, the bank is focused on delivering customer-focused savings and lending products. Its strategy centres on combining competitive savings rates with specialist asset investment.
Thisbank was created through the revitalisation of the UK arm of JN Bank under new leadership and ownership. The rebrand and relaunch have been built from the ground up with an emphasis on sustainable growth, a strong investment strategy and human-centric customer service.
Leadership at the bank includes CEO Chris Waring, who brings experience from major institutions including Lloyds and Barclays, as well as private equity. He is joined by chief transformation officer Declan Halton-Woodward, a former private banker and senior public servant, as the bank looks to blend industry expertise with a distinctly British outlook.
The bank offers a range of easy access and fixed-term savings products, with competitive rates across two-, three-, four- and five-year deposits. These products have attracted hundreds of millions of pounds in new deposits, with minimum deposits starting at £1 and a maximum of £500,000.
