General Magic raises $7.2m to speed up insurance quotes

General Magic, an AI agent platform for the insurance industry, has closed a $7.2m seed funding round, bringing its total raised to $8.4m.

The round was led by Radical Ventures, with significant participation from a16z Speedrun, alongside new investment from Figma vice president of product Brendan O’Driscoll and Larry James Erwin from OpenAI. Comma Capital and a number of prominent operators, including Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez and members of the Braze executive team, also feature among the company’s backers.

General Magic builds AI agents that handle the routine coordination work that burdens insurance teams, spanning pre-quote eligibility, post-quote engagement, and claims coordination. Its core product, Cell, integrates directly with broker management systems, quoting platforms, and CRMs, and can be deployed across SMS, iMessage, and RCS. Early deployments have demonstrated notable results, with the company reducing time-to-quote from roughly 30 minutes to under three minutes for one of the world’s largest general insurers, it claimed.

The company was founded by Anthony Azrak and Jai Mansukhani, who previously sold AI products into legacy industries. Their decision to focus on insurance stemmed from firsthand frustration with the fragmented experience of making a claim, an experience they found was far from uncommon across the industry.

General Magic co-founder and president Jai Mansukhani said, “Too much of insurance still relies on manual follow through across calls, inboxes, and scattered systems.

“We focus on keeping customers engaged at every stage of the lifecycle, not just at quote or claim. Our agents handle the routine work that slows teams down, while giving insurance leaders real visibility into what customers are asking, where they are getting stuck, and how they are feeling. When that engagement and data flow directly into core systems, teams move faster and customers feel genuinely supported.”
