Fenris launches new data tools to speed insurance quotes

US InsurTech Fenris has launched a series of new vehicle and property intelligence capabilities aimed at helping insurers make faster decisions across quoting, underwriting and distribution processes.

The firm said the tools are designed to reduce friction in insurance applications and improve customer experience, as providers come under pressure to process quotes more quickly and with greater accuracy. The enhancements build on Fenris’ real-time prefill and enrichment infrastructure, which feeds data into predictive models and operational insurance workflows.

The new capabilities include Plate-to-VIN, Auto Prefill for Additional Household Drivers and Roof Replacement Cost intelligence. Fenris said the features are intended to give insurers more complete information at the point of intake, reducing the need for manual data entry.

Plate-to-VIN allows insurers to generate vehicle details using only a number plate and state, removing the need for applicants to provide a vehicle identification number. The tool also supports multiple plates in a single request.

The Auto Prefill update identifies additional household drivers beyond the primary applicant, giving insurers a fuller picture of risk in multi-driver households.

For property insurance, Roof Replacement Cost intelligence provides real-time estimates of roof replacement costs, along with details on materials and roof area, to support underwriting and pricing decisions.

Fenris said the developments come amid rising application abandonment rates in insurance. Citing FinTech Global research published in May 2026, it said 84% of insurance leads abandon quotes before completion, the highest rate across sectors.

The company argues that improving data quality earlier in the process could reduce drop-off by cutting the time and effort required from applicants.

Fenris already provides insurers with access to driver, vehicle and property data, including licence details, driving history, building characteristics and replacement cost estimates.

Jen Linton, chief executive of Fenris, said, “Insurance workflows rely heavily on incomplete, manually entered information at intake by default. When access to accurate intelligence comes earlier in the workflow, carriers and distributors naturally improve quoting experiences, enhance downstream decision-making, and reduce friction.”
