Notabene, which claims to be the world’s largest open network for regulated on-chain transactions, has received a strategic investment from Ripple, the enterprise blockchain solutions provider serving both traditional and digital finance.
Beyond the capital injection, the two firms will work together to grow enterprise stablecoin payments. This will involve bringing Ripple USD (RLUSD) into Notabene Flow, the company’s B2B stablecoin payments platform, as well as investigating how trusted payment authorisation could work alongside Ripple Payments. Notabene Flow delivers payment coordination and authorisation functions built on top of the firm’s established transaction authorisation network.
The tie-up brings together Ripple’s worldwide enterprise footprint and its RLUSD stablecoin with Notabene’s institutional network, which currently handles more than $2trn in annualised transaction volume. The partners believe this will speed up uptake of compliant stablecoin payments and open a route for RLUSD to be embedded across one of the largest institutional digital asset payment networks globally.
Notabene’s network combines Travel Rule compliance with wider pre-transaction verification and authorisation tools. It connects over 2,300 institutions across more than 100 jurisdictions and serves upwards of 280 customers, spanning tier-1 banks, custodians, FinTechs and global exchanges. Through Notabene Flow, the firm is expanding into new capabilities for B2B and agentic stablecoin transactions, such as pull payments, recurring payments and automated invoicing.
Following the investment, Notabene plans to tap Ripple’s enterprise ecosystem to speed up the rollout of Notabene Flow and bring compliant stablecoin payments to institutions globally.
Ripple SVP of Stablecoin Jack McDonald said, “Stablecoins are quickly becoming part of mainstream financial infrastructure, but institutional adoption depends on more than efficient settlement rails alone,” said Jack McDonald, SVP of Stablecoin at Ripple. “It requires trusted identity, compliance, and transaction authorization before value moves. Notabene’s network addresses one of the fundamental barriers to enterprise adoption, and together we’re helping build the compliant infrastructure institutions need to move value at global scale while expanding the utility of RLUSD.”
Notabene co-founder and CEO Pelle Braendgaard said, “Every institution I talk to has moved past whether to use stablecoins. They are stuck on how to do it safely at scale within the context of their existing business. They need to know who is on the other side, what the transaction is for, and how to authorize payments without adding friction. That is what Notabene and its network of regulated institutions solve. Paired with an enterprise-ready stablecoin like RLUSD and Ripple’s global payments reach, it turns compliant stablecoin payments from a pilot into a real growth engine that reaches more counterparties and moves more volume, faster.”
