Zing365 launches insurance learning platform

Zing365, a provider of learning solutions built specifically for the insurance sector, has launched a new platform aimed at helping firms evidence workforce competence rather than simply track completed training hours.

The Zing365 Learning Platform, unveiled at Broker Expo, takes an outcomes-based approach to learning, bringing together training needs analysis, professional development, assessment and evidence of competence within a single system. Visitors to the Zing365 stand at the event can see live demonstrations of how the platform identifies knowledge gaps, delivers targeted learning and measures its impact.

The platform is structured around a four-stage competence cycle. It begins with identifying gaps through a Training Needs Analysis tool and an insurance-specific Competency Framework, which assess an individual’s knowledge and skills against their actual role requirements.

Learners are then directed towards relevant development activities, drawing on Zing365’s library of more than 350 specialist insurance courses and live webinars, as well as any learning content a firm has developed internally.

The platform tests the impact of this training through scenario-based assessments designed to reflect realistic insurance situations, rather than relying only on multiple-choice testing, before producing a detailed record showing how training needs were identified, addressed and assessed.

Although the framework, competency structure and assessment tools come pre-loaded with insurance-specific best practice, firms can adapt job roles, competencies, learning content and assessment criteria to suit their own organisation.

Zing365 provides learning solutions built for the insurance industry, including a dedicated platform for assessing and developing regulatory competence and completing CPD, alongside hundreds of interactive e-learning courses and a range of live training programmes delivered both in person and online.

Its e-learning and live training cover compliance and technical insurance knowledge as well as broader business, leadership and management skills. Zing365 is part of the Kinrock Learning group, which offers learning solutions for the financial and professional services sector more widely.

Zing365 managing director James Read said, “Training has traditionally been measured by hours completed rather than capability gained. But completing a course doesn’t mean that someone can apply that knowledge effectively in their day-to-day role.

“The FCA’s changes make that distinction increasingly important. Firms need to demonstrate competence beyond participation, and this means organisations understanding where knowledge gaps exist within operations and teams, address them directly, and then evidence that learning has had a marked impact.

“That’s exactly where the new Zing365 platform comes in to solve. Most learning platforms measure completion. We go much further: identify the gap, deliver targeted learning, assess outcomes and provide a clear evidence trail.”
