Peak3 shifts insurance tech from code to production

Peak3, a global supplier of digital and AI-powered software for insurers, has launched Graphene Harness, which it describes as the first global AI-driven delivery lifecycle (AI-DLC) for the insurance sector.

The company says the technology is already cutting the cost and time required to build, implement and maintain insurance technology by 50%, with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction over the next 18 to 36 months.

Rather than positioning Graphene Harness as another coding assistant, Peak3 is pitching it as a virtual technology delivery team. The platform uses AI across the full software lifecycle, covering business analysis, architecture, engineering, testing, migration, deployment and ongoing maintenance.

Peak3 said customers are already seeing a 50% reduction in end-to-end costs for new feature development and core system implementation. The longer-term goal is to reduce those costs by as much as 80% as the AI-DLC matures.

The company has captured the expertise of business analysts, architects, engineers, testers and reviewers, creating digital AI equivalents of each role and connecting them within a single governed delivery environment.

The launch comes alongside Graphene v4, the latest version of Peak3’s AI-native insurance core platform. The update includes stronger agent orchestration and runtime capabilities, improved agent interfaces and a marketplace of ready-made AI agents.

The combined technology is designed to help insurers build, deploy, monitor and govern AI across life, health and P&C insurance.

Pre-built agents can handle tasks including medical underwriting, conversational first notice of loss (FNOL), intelligent document processing, and fraud, waste and abuse detection in claims.

The agents can also make changes to insurance products, calculations and rules using natural-language instructions and unstructured documents. Peak3 said this can reduce complex configuration work from days to hours, and in some cases minutes.

The platform includes access management, attribution and detailed logging to control what individual agents can do and provide oversight of their activity.

Peak3 is already using Graphene Harness internally to build and maintain its Graphene platform. Selected implementation partners are now gaining access, with the company planning to make the technology available to clients over the next six to 12 months.

Headquartered in Singapore, Peak3 provides AI-native core and orchestration platforms alongside data and AI applications for insurers, MGAs and intermediaries.

The company works with more than 50 insurance clients across more than 20 countries in EMEA and APAC, with its solutions processing more than one billion policy transactions each year.

Peak3 CEO Bill Song said, “With Graphene Harness, we are disrupting the market to the benefit of our customers. We are doing this by moving from selling software and related services to selling the production line that builds it, our entire AI delivery lifecycle (AI-DLC).

“Insurance technology has traditionally been tied to large teams, lengthy implementation programmes, and high costs. AI fundamentally changes that model. Our ambition is to enable insurers to build and change their technology much faster, at significantly lower cost, while retaining the governance and control required for mission-critical insurance systems.”

The launch points to a broader shift in how insurance technology could be delivered, with AI being applied not only to individual development tasks but across the teams and processes responsible for building and maintaining core systems.

For Peak3, the commercial proposition is therefore less about selling AI-generated code and more about giving insurers an AI-powered delivery infrastructure that can repeatedly build, change and maintain insurance technology.
