MCO (MyComplianceOffice), a compliance management software specialist serving financial institutions, has named John Schobel as president.
The hire gives the company a seasoned RegTech operator as it moves to turn fresh capital and rising demand into its next stage of expansion.
The move comes shortly after MCO secured more than $100m in strategic growth financing from Accel-KKR Credit Partners.
That funding is earmarked to fuel further expansion and to develop the company’s financial services compliance products. In his new position, Schobel will work alongside CEO and founder Brian Fahey to steer the firm’s ongoing investment and growth plans.
Schobel arrives with more than 25 years of leadership experience as co-founder and CEO of RegEd, which he built from an early-stage venture. Over that period, he oversaw the launch of new offerings that reshaped the market and pushed product development across a large enterprise customer base.
MCO provides software that helps financial services firms manage their compliance obligations. Its client roster now exceeds 1,500 firms operating in over 125 countries. Between 2024 and 2025, the business grew revenue by 22% and added more than 100 new firms to its platform.
Innovation remains central to MCO’s strategy as it builds out a platform designed to bring compliance operations together and put AI to work. In the past 12 months, the company introduced several new products, among them a digital asset personal trading tool aimed at growing conflict-of-interest risks, alongside upgraded AI-driven features.
MCO expects its latest financing to speed up this work and give its international clients deeper compliance insight and greater efficiency.
MCO president John Schobel said, “Compliance technology is radically changing and it’s a pivotal time to be a part of it. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to partner with the industry to create advanced automation to address the most difficult compliance problems. Helping to lead MCO to the next level of its success is the perfect challenge for me: MCO has an incredibly broad set of solutions, and the vision and technical capability to deliver them to a global enterprise client base.”
He continued, “The roadmap is impressive and I’m excited to join MCO as its platform and use of emerging technologies offer a truly powerful combination. What Brian and his team have built is uniquely positioned to help financial firms meet today’s compliance challenges.”
MCO CEO Brian Fahey said, “A true RegTech pioneer, John is one of the industry’s foremost innovators and most accomplished executives. His deep roots in the compliance industry and his proven ability to lead talented teams, create transformation, and drive growth make him an ideal fit for MCO. John’s values and commitment to the customer experience align with ours, and he will strengthen every aspect of our business.”
Fahey added, “His experience in software leadership—from startup to enterprise provider—will allow us to build on our momentum and continue advancing our solutions. Agreeing to join us is a huge vote of confidence, and I couldn’t be more excited to work with someone of his caliber.”
