ZIGRAM partners with PSPAN to enhance Nepal’s AML standards

ZIGRAM

ZIGRAM has entered into a strategic partnership with the Payment Service Providers Association of Nepal (PSPAN), the national body representing licensed payment service providers regulated by the Nepal Rastra Bank.

The collaboration aims to enhance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance across Nepal’s growing digital payments ecosystem.

The partnership comes as Nepal continues to strengthen its regulatory framework in alignment with international standards to support its efforts to exit the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list. By leveraging ZIGRAM’s global expertise, PSPAN and its member organisations will gain access to scalable and cost-effective compliance technologies designed to promote transparency and regulatory readiness across the payments sector.

ZIGRAM provides technology-driven solutions to streamline AML compliance, data governance, and risk management. Its proprietary AML RegTech Stack underpins the Complete AML System, offering a unified approach to transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and regulatory reporting. PSPAN, on the other hand, serves as a collaborative platform for Nepal’s payment service providers, facilitating innovation, industry alignment, and compliance with the Nepal Rastra Bank’s regulatory framework.

Through this collaboration, PSPAN members will adopt ZIGRAM’s Complete AML System to meet evolving regulatory requirements and strengthen financial crime controls. The system will integrate both global and Nepal-specific watchlists, enabling payment service providers to better detect, manage, and report suspicious activities while ensuring operational efficiency.

The initiative supports Nepal’s ambition to build a safer and more transparent financial ecosystem. It is expected to play a vital role in supporting the country’s ongoing reforms in the FinTech space and its broader goal of achieving FATF compliance through stronger AML practices and improved financial crime resilience.

ZIGRAM CEO and co-founder Abhishek Bali said, “Our collaboration with PSPAN represents a meaningful step in enabling Nepal’s payment ecosystem to access world-class AML technologies tailored for local realities. By providing scalable and cost-effective compliance solutions, integrated with our global and Nepal specific watchlists, we aim to empower PSPs to innovate confidently while ensuring that regulatory expectations of Nepal Rashtra Bank are met with efficiency and rigor.”

PSPAN president and Khalti by IME CEO Binay Khadka said, “Strengthening AML and compliance standards is a top priority for Nepal’s digital payments ecosystem. We are confident that our collaboration with ZIGRAM will ensure that PSPs have access to global best-in-class solutions that are both practical and cost-effective, helping us safeguard the fintech industry, contribute towards our journey out of the FATF grey list, while fostering growth and innovation.”

PSPAN secretary and CityPay CEO Binay Regmi said, “Our members are at the forefront of driving digital financial inclusion in Nepal. By working with ZIGRAM, we are ensuring that this growth is anchored in strong AML and compliance foundations. This collaboration will help PSPs build trust, enhance resilience, and accelerate the adoption of safe and secure digital payments across the country.”
