ApartmentIQ lands $25m from Susquehanna Growth Equity

ApartmentIQ, a real-time market intelligence, revenue management, and AI platform for the multifamily industry, has secured a $25m follow-on investment from Susquehanna Growth Equity.

SGE, an entrepreneur-focused growth equity firm, previously led the company’s $22.5m Series B round in 2021, back when the business traded under the name Rentable and operated as one of the US’ largest apartment marketplaces. The fresh capital marks a continuation of that relationship as the company has shifted its focus away from consumer rentals.

The investment underscores how far ApartmentIQ has moved from its origins as a consumer-facing rental marketplace, repositioning itself as an integrated platform that gives multifamily operators real-time visibility into their markets, tools to optimise revenue, and AI-driven automation for day-to-day operational tasks.

Over a two-year period, the company has established itself as a new benchmark for market surveys within the multifamily sector. Its platform now supports more than 1,500 portfolios, spans 8 million customer units, and reaches 70% of the NMHC Top 50.

This trajectory mirrors a wider pivot across the industry towards platforms built on public data, information that updates in real time, remains transparent, and is broad enough to reflect genuine market movement.

At the centre of ApartmentIQ’s offering is its market survey tool, which draws exclusively on publicly available data to give operators daily, unit-level insight into pricing and availability. It is designed to replace the slower, manual survey processes operators have traditionally used to track competitor pricing.

The company has since expanded that foundation with two further products. Explore Pro is a market intelligence tool aimed at operators, investors and developers, helping them spot opportunities across acquisitions, development, redevelopment and competitive positioning as they arise.

Daylight, meanwhile, is an AI-powered revenue management platform built on close to six years of daily market data spanning 40 million units; rather than functioning as a black box, it is built to be transparent and predictive, reflecting genuine market behaviour.

Both tools are on pace to pass one million customer units within their first year on the market.

ApartmentIQ has also rolled out MavenAI, its AI-powered marketing agent for the multifamily sector. The tool takes over tasks multifamily teams have traditionally handled by hand, such as updating Google Business Profiles, publishing to social channels, and managing listings across a range of disconnected marketing platforms.

MavenAI now runs across more than 10,000 properties and has already cut tens of thousands of hours of manual work for multifamily teams. With the industry moving away from conventional SEO towards GEO and AI-led discovery, the tool is helping operators keep pace with how renters now search for and choose homes online. It also marks ApartmentIQ’s first significant push into agentic AI, extending its software beyond surfacing insights into taking action on operators’ behalf.

The new funding will go towards expanding ApartmentIQ’s platform, stepping up investment in MavenAI and other AI-driven products, and continuing to grow its engineering, data, product and go-to-market teams.

ApartmentIQ Co-Founder and CEO Alec Slocum said, “When SGE first invested, we had a strong business helping people find apartments. Today, we’re building products that help multifamily operators see their markets in real time, make more predictive decisions, and automate more of the manual work required to compete.

“SGE has been an exceptional partner through a period of significant transformation for the business. This investment accelerates our vision for a broader multifamily platform powered by real-time public data and AI.”

Susquehanna Growth Equity Managing Director Josh Elser said, “Since our initial investment, Alec and his team have consistently translated product innovation into meaningful adoption across the multifamily industry as AI tools take hold.

“The Company’s expansion and effective utilization of AI to provide real-time market intelligence, revenue management, and marketing automation reflects a platform that is both broadening its capabilities and becoming increasingly critical for operators and owners. We are pleased to continue supporting ApartmentIQ as it scales into its next phase of growth
