Clearco lands $100m facility from Macquarie Group

Clearco, the leading provider of non-dilutive funding for ecommerce brands, has agreed a new $100m asset-backed financing facility with Macquarie Group, the global financial services firm.

The facility is set to widen Clearco’s capacity to provide qualifying brands with funding of up to $10m, on terms of between four and 12 months, and is projected to underpin roughly $900m in funding to ecommerce businesses over the coming two years.

Under the arrangement, Clearco will be able to offer larger sums over longer repayment periods, giving brands operating across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, retail, marketplace and social commerce channels more room to fund inventory, marketing campaigns, sizeable purchase orders and other expansion plans.

The transaction was financed by Macquarie’s Fixed Income and Currencies team in New York, which sits within the firm’s Commodities and Global Markets division.

Clearco pioneered non-dilutive funding within ecommerce and continues to lead the space. Its financing is designed around the practical demands of retail, covering inventory, ongoing marketing spend, large purchase orders and expansion into wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.

Clearco CEO Andrew Curtis said, “Ecommerce growth no longer happens through a single channel. Brands are making larger inventory commitments, expanding across wholesale and retail, and investing in new ways for customers to discover and buy their products. This facility gives us the capacity to support those investments over longer terms and grow alongside ambitious operators as their businesses become more complex.”

Macquarie senior managing director Eli Nafisi said, “Clearco combines deep ecommerce specialization with the disciplined underwriting required to serve this market at scale.

“This facility demonstrates Macquarie’s ability to deliver tailored financing solutions across a range of asset classes, and we are pleased to support Clearco as it enhances access to flexible capital for ecommerce brands.”
