Engine by Gen opens Savvy insurance platform to AI agents

Engine by Gen, the embedded finance marketplace owned by Gen Digital, has launched an insurance shopping website designed specifically for AI agents, allowing consumers to research insurance while keeping greater control over their personal information.

The new site sits within Engine’s Savvy insurance marketplace and is designed to work with AI agents that compare products on behalf of consumers. The launch comes as AI agents such as Muse and Instinct increasingly handle shopping and research tasks, while some marketplaces have restricted or blocked agent access.

Savvy has instead opened its platform to AI agents and consolidated most of its questions onto a single page. This means an AI assistant can gather the information needed to search for insurance without repeatedly asking the consumer for additional details.

Before requesting sensitive information, Savvy provides rate estimates based on policies recently purchased by customers with similar profiles. If the estimates are competitive, the platform then requests contact details, which remain restricted to Savvy.

Engine said the approach is designed to reduce the calls, texts and emails that consumers can receive when AI agents visit multiple insurer websites individually. The company also said the model could help insurers by reducing the volume of costly data requests generated by automated agents.

The launch is part of Engine’s wider plans to connect its marketplace with AI agents and assistants, creating secure links between consumers, their AI agents and insurance providers.

Engine operates an embedded finance marketplace that provides personalised financial and insurance product recommendations through a network of integrated providers. Its products can be accessed through apps, websites and other digital channels.

Its parent company, Gen Digital, owns consumer brands including Norton, Avast, LifeLock and MoneyLion and serves customers across more than 150 countries.

The launch builds on Gen’s wider focus on developing infrastructure for AI agent activity. Since introducing its Agent Trust Hub in early 2026, the company has launched VPN for Agents, which is designed to secure how AI agents connect and operate, and AI Data Checker, which allows users to see how AI services handle their data.

Engine by Gen head Chris Schellens said, “AI agents are quickly becoming a popular way to get advice, but asking an agent to find car insurance is fundamentally different from asking it to find a new pair of sneakers. When AI agents shop for insurance without using Savvy, people quickly lose control over their personal information as AI may share it with untold insurance websites, which leads to spam and risk of identity theft. When AI agents use the new Savvy website, shoppers can get rate estimates anonymously and can get personalized quotes without getting contacted by multiple insurers.”
