Enterprise Ireland has been the most active FinTech investor in Ireland since 2014

Enterprise Ireland, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Dublin, is a government organisation which is responsible for the growth and development of Irish enterprises in world markets. They have been the most active investor in Ireland, with 15 transactions completed between 2014 and Q3 2019.

Enterprise Ireland was very active in 2016, participating in four funding rounds during the year. The largest deal of 2016 that they participated in was AQ Metrics’s $3.3m round in Q1 2016. AQ Metrics is a Dublin-based RegTech company who specialises in integrated risk management, regulatory compliance and surveillance software. Enterprise Ireland was joined in the round by Frontline Ventures and Bluff Point Associates, who led the round.

Enterprise Ireland has also been very active so far in 2019, completing three transactions in the first nine months of the year. The organisation invested in Eagle Alpha’s $2.4m round in Q3 2019. Eagle Alpha is a Data & Analytics company who are a leading provider of insights to some of the world’s leading investment managers and investment banks who want to leverage non-traditional insights from the web. Enterprise Ireland was joined in the round with Blueglen Investment Partners.
