Warta and Cambridge Mobile Telematics drive forward with connected insurance for safer roads

Poland’s premier motor insurer, Warta, and the world’s foremost telematics service provider, Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), have joined hands to roll out Warta4U, a connected insurance scheme offering safe driving incentives.

This initiative targets primarily young drivers, aiming to enhance road safety by offering feedback on risk elements such as speed, acceleration, braking, cornering, and phone distraction.

Jarosław Niemirowski, vice president of the Management Board of Warta, explained the crux of the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with CMT will help us improve customer safety and reduce the number of motor crashes in Poland. We firmly believe that usage-based motor insurance is the future, and we plan to expand our offering to other customer groups soon.”

Warta, a leading figure in the Polish insurance market since 1920, offers a diverse range of insurance solutions spanning motor, property, personal, and life domains. It serves both individual clients and enterprises with over 120 tailored insurance products. Warta continues to expand its offerings to meet evolving client needs.

CMT, on the other hand, is the world’s largest telematics service provider, committed to making the world’s roads and drivers safer. Its AI-driven platform, DriveWell®, amalgamates sensor data from an array of IoT devices and contextual data, offering valuable insights for industries including insurance, automotive, rideshare, smart cities, wireless, and financial services.

This alliance marks a significant stride in reducing driving risks. CMT’s research indicates that driving feedback like risk scores can reduce braking risk by 15% within just two months. Additionally, drivers who engage with their safe driving app more than thrice a week are 65% safer and 57% less distracted. CMT safe driving programmes have reduced crash frequency by 24% and fuel consumption by up to 25%.

Marijan Mumdziev, managing director of Europe at CMT, added, “Warta’s new program, Warta4U, will help young drivers learn about their risky behaviours and drive safer as a result.”

Presently, the Warta4U programme is accessible in four Polish provinces, with plans to go nationwide by the end of the third quarter. The Warta4U app is available for download exclusively to Warta customers enrolled in the Warta4U programme via the App Store and Google Play.
