GLN International links with Remitly to introduce rapid Korea-bound remittances

GLN International, a distinguished subsidiary of the renowned Hana Bank, has proudly introduced its latest venture into the world of digital remittance.

Responding to the needs of Korean residents, international students, and remittance customers residing abroad, the newly launched service offers a seamless solution to transfer funds securely and quickly to any domestic bank account in Korea.

Founded as an offshoot from Hana Bank in July 2021, GLN International Inc. embarked on its journey to pioneer global payment and settlement networks. By harnessing the expansive global banking framework of KEB Hana Bank, combined with an uncompromising Anti-Money Laundering (AML) system and compliance policies, the company is poised to redefine global financial transactions.

The freshly unveiled cross-border remittance service, developed in collaboration with the U.S.-based remittance giant, Remitly, allows instant, secure, and affordable money transfers to all domestic bank accounts in Korea. This service, running on GLN’s bank-level secure platform, ensures funds reach the preferred domestic bank accounts of Korean recipients without a hitch.

The green light for this innovative service was given in August when the Korean financial regulator conferred the requisite licence to GLN, recognising their steadfast commitment to transactional stability and enhanced security. The accomplishment cements GLN’s position as a rapidly growing, bank-supported FinTech entity, with endorsements from industry stalwarts such as Remitly.

In the backdrop of its ever-evolving financial landscape, GLN’s rise as a trailblazer in FinTech is hard to miss. Its bank-backed structure and the growing trust from other industry players exemplify its potential.

GLN International Inc.’s CEO Kim Kyung-ho said, “We are immensely excited about the expanded opportunities for both domestic and international customers to benefit from overseas remittance services through GLN’s robust global payment network. Overseas remittance forms a crucial part of GLN’s global market expansion strategy. With the forthcoming launch of domestic-to-overseas remittance services, we are eager to collaborate with a myriad of partners to further bolster the global remittance market.”
