Morrow Sodali, a stakeholder engagement and ESG consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Barri Rafferty to the novel role of CEO, Americas.

In this capacity, Rafferty will be in charge of steering the firm’s operations both in North and South America.

Morrow Sodali specialises in assisting companies with their stakeholder engagement and offers ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) consulting services. Their aim is to enable firms to enhance their corporate value by effectively navigating the complex world of stakeholder relations, corporate governance, and ESG topics.

Barri Rafferty is no stranger to leadership roles. She has joined the firm after a stint as the Head of Communications and Brand Management at Wells Fargo. In this role, she managed various aspects, including the company’s reputation, brand strategy, communications, and advertising. Before her association with Wells Fargo, which began in 2020, Rafferty accumulated over 25 years of experience at the global communications consultancy, Ketchum. Her journey at Ketchum saw her rise to positions like CEO and Global President. In addition to her illustrious career, she has also been serving as Interim CEO at C200, a women’s business leadership organisation, where she holds a position on the board.

This appointment of Rafferty comes on the heels of TPG Growth’s acquisition of a majority stake in Morrow Sodali last year. It’s also noteworthy to mention that Morrow Sodali has been on a strategic acquisition spree this year, adding firms like HXE Partners, which specialises in ESG strategy and implementation, and FrameworkESG, an ESG-focused advisory firm.

Morrow Sodali CEO Americas, Barri Rafferty said, “I am excited to work closely with the leadership team at Morrow Sodali and our investors at TPG to continue to grow this global corporate consultancy and leverage the Firm’s recent acquisitions in ESG and sustainability advisory services. As stakeholder relations becomes more complex, corporate governance and activism more pronounced, and the need for companies to take stands on ESG topics more controversial, Morrow Sodali has a unique role to play in enhancing corporate value.”

Ransom Langford, TPG Partner, also shared his insights, “Barri is a proven leader with a strong track record and we are confident she will help position Morrow Sodali for further growth. We are pleased to partner with Barri as we continue building and broadening the Firm’s suite of stakeholder engagement and ESG consulting services.”
