Tietoevry Banking and Butterfield launch eco-friendly credit cards in the Channel Islands

Tietoevry Banking, a leading provider of FinTech SaaS solutions based in the Nordics, has joined forces with Butterfield, an esteemed independent bank and trust company in Guernsey, to roll out innovative credit cards for the digital era.

The collaboration between Tietoevry Banking and Butterfield is rooted in a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the financial sector. Butterfield aims to issue eco-friendly credit cards produced from recycled plastic.

Tietoevry Banking stands at the forefront of FinTech innovation, offering a comprehensive suite of financial SaaS solutions, including a credit ledger that encompasses end-to-end credit card transaction processing, dispute resolution, financial crime prevention, and customer support. Their platform also supports mobile and wallet-based payments, ensuring a seamless and modern banking experience.

On the other hand, Butterfield specializes in providing personalized banking and trust services. With this partnership, Butterfield is set to offer Guernsey and Jersey residents credit cards that not only have an environmentally friendly profile but also promote local spending and contributions to local charities through cash-back rewards.

Butterfield’s Managing Director, Alan Bain, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to be working with Tietoevry Banking, offering personal credit cards for residents of Guernsey and Jersey, issued from Guernsey. We have chosen to issue Tietoevry Banking’s sustainable card made of 95% recycled PVC plastic as we continue our pledge to operate responsibly, in alignment with universal sustainability principles.”
