Karma Wallet acquires DoneGood to elevate ethical consumer choices

Karma Wallet has announced its strategic acquisition of DoneGood, the leading marketplace for ethical and sustainable products.

This acquisition marks a significant step in consumer finance, merging Karma Wallet’s innovative financial products and data-driven insights with DoneGood’s extensive network of over 100 ethical brands.

The acquisition aims to redefine ethical consumerism by integrating DoneGood’s robust marketplace into Karma Wallet’s platform, thereby enhancing the consumer’s ability to make purchases that reflect their personal values. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the merger promises substantial benefits for members of the Karma Wallet ecosystem, facilitating a seamless transition of values into impactful consumer decisions.

Karma Wallet stands out in the FinTech landscape with its unique approach to consumer finance, offering tools that allow consumers to gauge the societal and environmental impact of their spending. The platform provides insights, brand ratings, and financial products designed to promote sustainable spending habits.

On the other hand, DoneGood excels as a marketplace committed to sustainability, featuring a diverse array of products from over 100 sustainable and ethical brands. The platform supports small businesses and promotes goods produced under fair working conditions and eco-friendly practices, empowering consumers to shop with a conscience.

The merger is set to enhance the offerings of both entities significantly. Karma Wallet members will now enjoy access to a broader range of products, alongside benefits such as free shipping, exclusive cashback rewards on purchases, and simplified sustainable shopping through seamless integration of DoneGood’s marketplace. This strategic move is anticipated to democratize sustainable products, making them more accessible to a wider audience through financial incentives and expanded choices.

In addition to the marketplace integration, Karma Wallet is introducing the Karma Wallet Card, a prepaid, reloadable debit card that further supports sustainable actions. Purchases made with the card will contribute towards environmental and social causes, such as reforestation and hunger alleviation, thus extending the impact of everyday transactions.

Karma Wallet CEO Jayant Khadilkar shared, “This is a significant step forward in actualizing our vision of blending ethical practices with everyday financial choices. It symbolizes our dedication to a future where financial empowerment and sustainable living are one and the same.”

DoneGood CEO Cullen Schwarz added, “We’ve always believed that the dollars people spend can be the world’s most powerful force for change. When consumers demand products made with living wages and climate change-fighting practices, the market supplies more living wage jobs and products that fight climate change. We believe our alliance with Karma Wallet can now help far more people wield their purchasing power even more effectively.”

Karma Wallet co-founder Kedar Karkare, reflected, “As a family-founded company, DoneGood resonates deeply with our core values. We started Karma Wallet with the vision of integrating ethical choices into everyday finances, and this is a significant milestone on that journey.”
