LexisNexis partnership to tackle mobile fraud blindspots

LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a provider of risk intelligence and fraud prevention technology, has partnered with mobile application security company Promon to help organisations better protect mobile transactions by combining application security with digital identity and behavioural intelligence.

The partnership brings together LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ ThreatMetrix digital identity, device and behavioural intelligence with Promon Shield’s in-app protection and Promon Insight telemetry capabilities. The combined solution is designed to give organisations greater visibility into mobile fraud risks and support more informed fraud decisions in real time.

The collaboration comes as fraud increasingly shifts towards mobile channels, with attackers using techniques such as malware injection, overlay attacks, device tampering, reverse engineering and automated abuse to target mobile applications. These evolving threats are placing greater pressure on organisations to detect suspicious activity before fraudulent transactions occur.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions provides fraud prevention, digital identity and risk intelligence solutions for organisations managing digital transactions, while Promon specialises in protecting mobile applications against tampering and other security threats through in-app protection and telemetry technology.

The partnership enables organisations to link app integrity signals with customer identity and transaction data through the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dynamic Decision Platform. The companies said this approach helps strengthen fraud detection across the mobile customer journey while improving confidence in transaction decisions.

Promon Shield protects applications while they are running on a device, and Promon Insight provides trusted telemetry that helps organisations identify compromised applications and strengthen fraud detection. ThreatMetrix adds further intelligence by analysing digital identity, device behaviour and global network signals to identify suspicious activity and reduce blind spots across digital channels.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions chief commercial officer Grayson Clarke said, “Promon’s app protection capabilities complement the insights delivered through our LexisNexis® Risk Intelligence Network, helping customers strengthen the signals they rely on to better detect fraud across the mobile environment.”

Promon CEO Daniel Kollberg added, “As fraud increasingly targets the mobile app and device environment, organisations need clearer insight into whether each session can be trusted.”
