Cytora partnership gives Octave a faster route to MGA launches

Cytora, an AI-powered risk processing platform for commercial insurers, has entered a strategic partnership with Octave Specialty Group, a specialty insurance platform focused on building, acquiring and scaling managing general agencies (MGAs), to support the launch and operation of new MGA businesses.

The partnership will see Octave leverage Cytora’s configurable, AI-driven risk processing and workflow automation capabilities to provide operational infrastructure for new MGA launches, reduce time-to-market through pre-configured digital insurance stacks and support risk processing across its portfolio.

Through the collaboration, Cytora’s platform will help Octave digitise incoming risks, enrich submissions with external data sources, evaluate information against underwriting rules including appetite and priority criteria, and route risks into downstream systems for automated or manual underwriting.

The partnership highlights the growing role of AI-driven risk processing and workflow automation in specialty insurance, as insurers and MGAs look to improve operational efficiency and support scalable underwriting models.

Cytora provides digital risk processing technology that enables commercial insurers to process risks with greater efficiency and accuracy. The platform digitises incoming risk information, augments it with external data sources, evaluates it against multiple rules and routes it to downstream systems for automated or manual underwriting.

Octave Specialty Group is a global specialty insurance firm that builds, buys and scales niche insurance distribution and underwriting businesses. The company focuses on operational excellence, disciplined growth and innovation as it develops a portfolio of specialty insurance companies.

Octave chief information officer Randy Paez said, “Data is a foundational element of specialty insurance, and coupling it with AI is changing how we build and scale MGAs. Cytora gives us the front end of the AI-driven stack that turns unstructured submissions into decision-ready risk, compresses time-to-market for every MGA we launch, and enables us to further scale our operations.”

Cytora chief commercial officer Juan de Castro added, “Octave is one of the industry leaders in embracing new technology to transform its business operations and enhance the experience of its partners and customers. We are delighted to be part of this journey and look forward to supporting Octave as it continues to develop one of the world’s most advanced MGA ecosystems.”
