Creditstar Group, a European consumer finance and investment FinTech, has secured its first external hybrid equity investment, receiving €4.6m from Singapore-based investor Kilde at a €130m pre-money valuation.
The deal has been structured as a convertible loan that accrues interest throughout the holding period and carries the option to convert into equity shares. It builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, with Kilde having previously extended credit facilities worth €18.4m ($20m) to the group.
The transaction gives Creditstar Group a new route to broaden its funding base, which has traditionally relied on retained earnings, shareholder capital and debt instruments. It comes on the back of a strong 2025, in which the company’s audited net profit climbed 86% to €13.5m, marking 19 straight years of profitability. Interest income for the period grew 50% to €111m, while its loan book expanded to €482m.
Creditstar delivers digital consumer credit under its own brand through regulated entities in the UK and seven EU markets, and also runs Monefit SmartSaver, a digital investment platform live in 31 European countries that channels investor funds into financing the group’s consumer loan portfolio.
The group also picked up a regulatory win at the start of the year, with Creditstar UK gaining Financial Conduct Authority authorisation in January 2026 to operate as a mainstream consumer credit lender, allowing it to provide digital personal loans with flexible repayment structures in one of Europe’s most tightly regulated credit markets.
Proceeds from the Kilde investment are earmarked for the group’s next round of product growth, including the rollout of a credit card in Estonia later in 2026. The launch is designed to extend Creditstar’s offering past instalment and revolving credit lines, aiming to drive more regular engagement and greater long-term value from customers.
Creditstar Group founder and CEO Aaro Sosaar said, “The completion of this investment is an important milestone for Creditstar Group.
“We have built the business profitably over two decades, with a clear focus on disciplined growth, risk management and product development. Bringing in equity-linked capital from an existing funding partner is a meaningful signal of confidence in our business, team and the next stage of our growth.”
Kilde co-founder Radek Jezbera said, “Our decision to back Creditstar builds on the relationship already established through our debt partnership. The group has demonstrated a combination of operational execution, credit discipline and product ambition. We see a proven business with clear room for further expansion.”
